Pots made from ModRoc

These special little pots have been created by molding Modroc over the base of an empty bottle. The embellishments have been added while the Modroc is still wet allowing the resin based plaster to act as an adhesive.

ModRoc can be reworked while still wet offering itself to detailed work. Once dry, it is lightweight but with a rock hard surface.

The pot on the right has been brushed over with Pearl-Ex powder and further embellished with skeleton leaves. Fibres such as Heat-Bondable Angelina would also work with good effect.

Pearl-Ex powder has also been brushed over the blue pot while the Modroc was still wet. The designer, Linda Chapman, pressed scrim into the surface for further interest.

Take a look at No Added Sugar, which is a community arts company, to see the great things they're making with children with ModRoc and Clay. The page will open in a separate window.
